Orkas

Open-source, local-first desktop AI workforce coordinated by a Commander through one chat.

https://orkas.ai/?source=dir_indieindex (rel=ugc nofollow)

Orkas is an open-source, local-first desktop AI workforce. A Commander turns goals into executable plans and coordinates specialist agents in parallel or sequence through one chat. It is a desktop application, not a browser-only utility or hosted MCP runtime. Conversations, files, agent configuration and model keys stay local; external model or service calls may send task data to the selected provider. The open-source core uses user-selected providers or compatible local model endpoints; optional hosted services may have separate costs. Submitted on behalf of the project with AI assistance.

FAQ

What is this listing?
An IndieIndex registry record for Orkas — structured product metadata agents and humans can read. It is a registry listing, not an ad and not a sold placement.
How do ownership, editorial, and follow work?
ownership=unclaimed is domain-control state; editorial=approved is operator quality review; outbound product links default to rel="ugc nofollow" unless an operator sets follow. Proof ≠ approval ≠ follow. Ownership and editorial are never sold.
How do agents search or submit?
Search: GET /api/v1/search?q=orkas. Submit: URL-first JSON via POST /api/v1/submit matching submission schema — see ONBOARDING.md. Queued only; no auto-publish; never sets follow.
Unclaimed listing — how do I remove it?
Editorial seeds may be ownership=unclaimed. Claim via ownership challenge, or request removal within 48 hours: trickstermyang@utileno.com.
